This
was one of my earlier SF songs. I'm from Vancouver, so I reserve
the right to put it in songs about protesting earnestly against robot
occupations. You know you've been away from home for too long
when your thoughts of Save-On Foods become wistful and nostalgic. |

A / D / A / E / A D A D Last Thursday, I was having coffee at a coffee shop A E Esus4 E A Esus4 E When the explosions started tearing up the street. A D A D Now I’ve joined the resistance formed of several desperate human stragglers A E Esus4 E A Dsus4 A Clinging to dim hope amidst defeat. F#m Bm A The robots hunt us down, and then they kill us one by one D A E Esus4 E Esus2 E Or haul us off to slavery and pain, A E A D And since this is all happening in the suburbs of Vancouver, A E Esus4 E A Asus4 A For the most part, it is happening in the rain. A D A D The human revolution’s got off to what I suppose A E Esus4 E A Esus4 E Will prove to be a very useful kind of start. A D A D We’ve had a few committee meetings in an empty Save-On Foods, A E Esus4 E A Dsus4 A And everybody’s shown a lot of heart. F#m Bm A We’re making signs and placards, and we’ve started a petition; D A E Esus4 E Esus2 E We’ve got almost twenty signatures so far. A E A D We’ll send a forceful message to our robot lords and masters: A E A Asus4 A They will tremble at how organised we are. A D A Asus4 A Asus2 A We protest the robot occupation. A D E Esus4 E We don’t like being human slaves. D E A D Please stop if you don’t mind, for we’re afraid that we all find A E Esus4 E A Asus4 A That we would rather not be rotting in our graves. A D A D Though we can’t trust computers, elevators, cars, or phones, A E Esus4 E A Esus4 E We have decided we won’t let it get us down. A D A D We’re carefully hand-lettering the pamphlets that we plan to give to A E Esus4 E A Dsus4 A All the killer robots left in town. F#m Bm A We think that if we show them that we’re sticking to our guns D A E Esus4 E Esus2 E And that we are determined to survive, A E A D They’ll have to form committees of their own so they can figure out A E A Asus4 A If they should leave a few of us alive.
